Overwintering Bewick's Swans From North Kent With Love 2016/17.

  Overwintering Bewick's Swans, started with two adults on the 13th November. They were joined by one more adult fifteen days later 28th November, the following day another seven adults joined the group. By the 4th December the group was down to eight adults. Seven days later 11th December the group was up to thirteen including one juvenile with two protective parents keeping a close eye on it. The juvenile had a naivety to wander to the margin's of the group, the parent birds were constantly in attendance. Three days later the group was up to fifteen which did split at times but generally stayed at fifteen for the next sixteen days. After this at times the group was between eighteen and twenty. From January 2017 the group was between seven and twelve, by mid February they were all on their way to a hazardous journey back to the breeding grounds in northern Russia. Picture story below.

Fifteen days later another adult joined the first two Bewick's Swan.

The following day after the third adult joined the first two arrival's another seven adults joined the group, between this time and the 4th December the group was down to eight.

Seven days later 11th December the group was up to thirteen including one juvenile, three days after this two more adults joined making fifteen.

When the group was up to thirteen, with one juvenile that stayed with the main group all winter, this juvenile had two very protective parents who kept a close eye on it as the juvenile had a naivety to wonder to the margins of the  group this entailed the parent birds being in close attendance.

The group generally stayed at fifteen for the next sixteen days but at times did split.
