Hare Boxing Marsh Harrier

A stand off between a Hare and a Marsh Harrier with a Leveret in the foreground,                                                       a trully remarkable experience.

                                                                              Stand Off.

Stand Off.If anyone told me what I was about see in the next few frames, I would have probably not believed them. It was a magic moment as a Hare makes a stand to protect a Leveret just visible in the foreground.

Rumble

The risk of being injured must have been on the mind of the Marsh Harrier, an experience this Hare has probably been through before. The Hare stood it's ground and attacked the Marsh Harrier by "Boxing"as they do with other Hares.

                                                                            Unscathed.

Both are unscathed allowing more time and distance for the Leveret to escape.

                                                                            Reconsider.

The Hare escaped the claws of the Marsh Harrier, both appeared to assess their position, the Hare had made clear that it was prepared to fight and the Harrier was not prepared to risk injury.

                                                                            Nose to Nose.

Nose to NoseThe Leveret is safe, it is now put up or shut up for the Marsh Harrier.
